====== Nether Villages ====== Created Tuesday 09 February 2021 ===== Story ===== There are two kinds of villagers that live in the Nether. Those that live in the warped biome and those that live in the crimson biome. They fell into the Nether long before, and evolved to survive their new home. The two villages don't like each other--like the Hatfields-McCoys. Their evolution makes them stronger than normal villagers, able to mostly take care of themselves in the harsh environment of the Nether. They use the materials they gather from their respective forests to create tools to farm and survive. ===== Features ===== * Two new breeds of villagers * warped villagers * crimson villagers * New villager occupations * warper defender * crimson defender * New workstations * * New items * warped tools * crimson tools * rubies * nether food * New trades * Using rubies * New villager summon * **Not** an iron golem. Something new. * New structures & Nether village generation ===== New Villager Breeds ===== ==== Warped Villagers ==== Warped villagers have greenish tints on their bodies. They look like villagers with the warped colors. ==== Crimson Villagers ==== Crimson villagers have red tints on their bodies, similar to the warped villagers. ==== Shared Characteristics ==== Nether villagers grunt, in a macho way. ===== New Occupations ===== ==== Warped Defender ==== The warped defender defends the village from nether mobs. The warped defender specializes in defense, using a large spiked shield (thorns) and an axe to protect himself and the village. ==== Crimson Defender ==== The crimson defender defends their village from nether mobs. The crimson defender specializes in offence, and is very aggresive. He uses a spear (trident) to fight at long range. ===== New Items/Blocks ===== ==== Defender workstation ==== The defenders are made using a work station--don't know what yet. ==== Warped/Crimson Tools ==== The village has access to gold and warped/crimson wood. So, they make their tools out of those things. They've learned how to treat the gold and wood to create something with unique properties. * Pick * Axe * Shovel * Hoe * Armour ==== Rubies ==== Villagers trade using rubies in the Nether, rather than emeralds. Just like emeralds, rubies can be stored as an item, or combined to create a ruby block. Like emerald blocks, rubies will be decorative. (If possible, we'll make it so people can use ruby blocks as the foundation for beacons.) ==== Nether Food ==== Villagers live on nether-ish foods that can only be found in crimson/warped villages. ===== New Trades ===== Villagers will trade things that you can find in the nether, including crying obsidian and the like. Also their tools and the new nether food. ===== New Villager Summon ===== Something that supports their separate defenders, similar to iron golems. ===== New Structure/Village Generation ===== Warped/Crimson villages will be made using blocks you can find in their respective biomes. ==== Buildings ==== === Houses === There need to be more than one model of house for the villages. At least three, five is better. == Warped == Warped houses are low to the ground, squat. Hobbit-like. They have to be low so that Endermen don't teleport inside, so nothing higher than 2.5 blocks. This is part of why the defenders are more defensive. == Crimson == Crimson houses are more spindley, high enough to keep out hoglins, which is why they prefer spears and the like. === Shrine === Overworld villages have churches, nether villages will have shrines or something like it === Defensive walls === Villages need to be (mostly) surrounded by walls of some kind, otherwise it will be very hard to keep them alive. === Defensive tower === This is where the defenders sleep, theoretically. It's at the entrance/exit of the village.
